The Most loved Middle Eastern Food !! The Falafel Pita Sandwich

Warm pita bread, stuffed with crispy hot falafel balls, cool, crunchy diced tomatoes, diced cucumbers & lettuce drenched in Tahini sauce along with hummus and spicy sauce

HOW TO MAKE FALAFEL BULLETS?

  • Soak chickpeas for 24 hours. Cover them in plenty of water and add baking soda to help soften them as they soak. Make sure they look at least double in size as they soak. Drain very well.

  • TO Make mixture: Add chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, green chili, salt, paprika and cumin powder and 1 tsp of all - purpose flour to food processor and pulse a little bit at a time until the mixture is finely ground. I like to add some soaked whole mung beans (MOONG). Make sure the mixture is not too runny it needs to be thick

  • Refrigerate It’s Important.  Transfer the falafel mixture to a bowl, cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. The chilled mixture will hold together better, making it easier to form the falafel patties

  • You can either deep fry the bullets or bake them

HOW TO MAKE TAHINI?

  • Toast the white sesame seeds

  • Process the sesame seeds until crumbly

  • Add oil and mix it into a smooth runny cream

HOW TO MAKE HUMMUS?

  • In a blender add boiled chickpea, olive oil, sour cream, salt, pepper along with some tahini until everything is combined into a smooth and creamy

HOW TO MAKE SPICY SAUCE?

  • In a blender add Thai red chilies

  • Add handful of pine nuts

  • Salt, lemon

  • 1 tomato

  • Blend until it’s a smooth sauce

SALAD:

  • Tomatoes

  • Cucumber

  • Lettuce

HOW TO ASSEMBLE:

  • Warm the pita bread and cut it into half’s

  • I like to mix hummus, tahini and red spicy sauce along with the salad

  • In the pocket apply some hummus, place the lettuce add the salad top it up with the falafel bullets drizzle spicy sauce if you like it spicy like me .. also, I love to add sour cream over it giving it a enhanced flavor to the sandwich or pita pockets.

TIPS :Now, if you are a Non- JAIN or Eat Onion & Garlic, You can add garlic in Hummus, Red spicy sauce and even in falafel bullets along with onion
